What to do if you DON’T get What you desire when you expect it… Part 2
I got many responses from this posting about this statement in the post:
“1. When you realize that God has created a perfect universe, then even when a failure occurs it is perfect in God’s universe. To think other wise is to question God.”

This one in particular got my attention: “John, If God has created such a perfect universe, then why is there so much violence and poverty in this world? And why do people get cancer?”
It made me think for a while. It was a very interesting question.
People close to me know my feelings about God’s universe and have often asked me the same question but getting the question from a reader of the blog really made me dig deep in my mind about this one.
Well here goes…
I believe that all of this happens to find out where we are going to focus our attention. For as much good that happens, there is the same amount of bad that happens. I think this is what keeps us in balance.
But the folks that focus on the good that happens more than the bad, seem to proper more.
This is why you will hear the story of someone who lived in the violent, drug infested streets of any city go on to be a huge success in their life. They decided to focus not on the violent, drug infested streets but on the value they could profitably provide to the world and prospered.
And as Wallace Wattles says, If one person can do it, it proves that the science works without failure.
In this age of information, as was back in the days when information didn’t travel as fast, bad news always sells more than good news. It is what we focus on that will produce the results in our lives.
Don’t be confused about this, we are where we are because of the thoughts and actions we have taken to this minute.
The only way to change the results we are currently seeing is to change our actions and our thinking.
When we are focusing on the results we do not want, we will continue to get more of the same, but when we focus our thoughts on the results we truly want and make our actions congruent with those thoughts, there is nothing that can stand in the way of us getting to that result accept for lack of persistence.
The choice of what you focus on is yours.
Here are a few things you can do to get a more positive focus in your life:
1. Turn off the TV, radio and Internet News sites. The focus of all three of these media sources is to sell advertising, no matter how many community messages you see or hear on them. And bad news sells advertising. It’s like driving by the scene of an accident, for some reason you can’t help but turn to look and your first thought is “I’m glad it’s not me.” And then you run into the car in front of you. Guess where your focus was.
This alone after a week will give you a whole new perspective on the world.
You may be saying, “John, how will I know what’s going on in the world?” Believe me, if something really bad happens, you’ll find out about it from the person you get your morning coffee from.
2. Get away from negative people. Stir clear of the person who is always complaining. They complain about the boss, the economy, the government, their co-workers and much more. Just get away from them, within a week, again you will see major differences in your focus.
3. Start your day off with positive input. Start reading from a motivational book in the morning. The Bible is also a read first thing in the morning. Sign up for positive quotes of the say emails. Visit http://greatday.com/motivate/index.html
If that site doesn’t get you moving in the right direction in the morning nothing will.
4. Listen to educational, motivational, autobiographical CD’s in your car while driving. This will change you life in more ways, I will have to save that for another posting.
Remember, who are we to judge what our Creator has done. Our job is to positively focus our attention on what we want and take actions toward what we want. Paying attention to the negative things around acts as an anchor holding us back from what we truly deserve.
Here’s to your LifetoSuccess,
