Is Opportunity Monopolized? (Part 2)

At different periods the tide of opportunity sets in different directions, according to the needs of the whole, and the particular stage of social evolution which has been reached. At present, in America, it is setting toward agriculture and the allied industries and professions. To-day, opportunity is open before the factory worker in his line. It is open before the business man who supplies the farmer more than before the one who supplies the factory worker; and before the professional man who waits upon the farmer more than before the one who serves the working class.

There is abundance of opportunity for the man who will go with the tide, instead of trying to swim against it.

So the factory workers, either as individuals or as a class, are not deprived of opportunity. The workers are not being “kept down” by their masters; they are not being “ground” by the trusts and combinations of capital. As a class, they are where they are because they do not do things in a Certain Way. If the workers of America chose to do so, they could follow the example of their brothers in Belgium and other countries, and establish great department stores and co-operative industries; they could elect men of their own class to office, and pass laws favoring the development of such co-operative industries; and in a few years they could take peaceable possession of the industrial field.

Again you may find some of the industries that Wallace Wattles use in these paragraphs dated, but the message is as clear today as it was back then.

The key to successfully working in the CERTAIN WAY is to be in tune with what the desires of “the whole” and find a way to profitably meet that desire. Nothing more nothing less.

And the willingness to change as the desires change and to morph into the preferred service provider to meet those desires.

If you look at the history of this world, as far back as we have recorded history, you will see that people have always been able to find ways to become rich by meeting the needs of people willing to pay for the service that they provide.

The problem that arises for most is that they are so entrenched in the results they are experiencing right now that they don’t bother to look for ways to serve others because they are trying to keep their heads above water.

The key here is to look at ways to profitably serve others. Look for ways to add more revenue streams to your life.

#1 – Start looking at your present employment situation as if you are self employed and look for ways to better serve your current employer. When you start working this way, one of two things will happen, you will be paid more money by your current employer or you will be hired by someone who recognizes that your work in the CERTAIN WAY and you will be paid more money that way.

#2 – Start a home based business, Internet Business – With the internet and Network marketing companies out there, the options are limitless.
